Elena Pellone - Actor
Elena Pellone holds a PhD on “Directorless Shakespeare” from the Shakespeare Institute, University of Birmingham, and has studied at RADA, the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, and the University of Melbourne. She has directed seminars, lectured internationally, and contributed to conferences across Europe, the UK, and the USA. Her monograph Directorless Shakespeare: Transformations through Collective Embodied Literary Criticism and a collection on Shakespeare and the Culture of Sexual Violence are forthcoming with Routledge.
A professional actor and Artistic Facilitator of the Venice Shakespeare Company and Anərkē Shakespeare, Elena specialises in inclusive, ensemble-driven Shakespeare. She has adapted and performed The Rape of Lucrece widely, collaborating with universities, festivals, and charities to combine performance with academic discussion on literature and sexual violence. Her interdisciplinary work includes bilingual productions, workshops, and seminars on Shakespearean plays, exploring multilingual and embodied performance practices. Elena is also a contributor to scholarly journals, a theatre reviewer, and actively involved in transcription and study of early modern English play manuscripts.
Patricio Orozco - Director
Patricio Orozco is an acclaimed theatre director and producer, renowned for his innovative Shakespearean productions in Latin America. He founded the Festival Shakespeare Buenos Aires in 2011, the region’s first dedicated Shakespeare festival, and has since directed over 25 productions, including Macbeth, Hamlet, Richard III, The Rape of Lucrece, and original adaptations such as Shakespeare’s Women and Borges and Shakespeare. His direction combines classical fidelity with contemporary creativity, bringing immersive experiences to diverse audiences.
Patricio also produced the Festival Shakespeare Uruguay and the Shakespeare School Festival, extending Shakespeare’s reach to schools and communities. His documentaries, Harold Bloom: The Last Interview and Will’s Book: Shakespeare’s First Folio, showcase his directorial vision in cinematic form.
Recognised for his artistic achievements, he has received the Member of the Order of the British Empire (BEM), the Teatro del Mundo Award, the María Guerrero Award, and distinction from the Buenos Aires City Parliament. Through Fundación Romeo and the Premio Shakespeare Award, he continues to champion theatre, education, and cultural engagement.

Trained in scenography at the Faculty of Visual Arts, University of La Plata (1972), furthered her studies in France under a government scholarship, focusing on medieval theatre costumes, stage machinery, and special effects at the Institut d’Études Théâtrales, Paris VIII. She has taught costume and scenography at the Teatro Colón’s Superior Institute of Art and the National School of Dramatic Arts. Galán has designed costumes and sets for theatre, opera, and film, collaborating with directors including Jorge Lavelli, and Claudia Stavisky. Her work has been awarded at the Festival Cervantino, the Condor de Plata, and recognised by the Konex Foundation, and she received the Shakespeare Prize from the British Embassy in Buenos Aires and the Romeo Foundation, reflecting a distinguished international career.
